KIWA hydrogen testing facility

In June 2021 KIWA approached SDG Groundwork Solutions LTD to be a part of the construction team on Project Hydrogen. Our team acted as Principal Contractor for the construction phase and delivered the works ahead of schedule and within budget. Weekly progress reports were produced and sent to all professionals involved in delivering the project. Large in-situ concrete retaining walls were built, backfilled in compacted layers and a large 300mm reinforced concrete slab laid to the top covering an area of over 700 m2 around the perimeter of a large landfill site. Design drawings were followed to ensure the reinforced concrete could withstand the weight of the tanks and apparatus. A new 100m access track was installed to ensure all vehicles could access the site safely. SDG managed the crane lift to ensure the specialist equipment could be manoeuvred into place safely and securely. An exciting project to be involved with.
